How I Create Content at FinSeeds

Real Experience, Not Theory

At FinSeeds, all content comes from actual experience, extensive research, and documented testing. I don't write about companies I haven't used, recommend tools I haven't tested, or create educational content without backing it up with real-world application.

I learned this lesson the hard way—after 52+ failed evaluations, I realized most online advice comes from people who've never actually walked the path they're writing about.

My Content Creation Process

Different Content, Same Standards

Whether I'm reviewing a prop firm, explaining how trailing drawdowns work, or comparing trading platforms, I apply the same systematic approach: real experience, thorough documentation, and honest insights.

For Prop Firm Reviews and Comparisons

I Put My Money Where My Mouth Is I personally sign up for every prop firm I review using my own money for challenge fees. When I failed my first TopStep challenge on day one by risking 15 contracts, that $149 taught me more than any YouTube video ever could.

Testing Timeline: I evaluate each firm for at least 30-60 days, often much longer for comprehensive analysis.

What I Document:

  • Daily trading logs and screenshots
  • Rule compliance experiences
  • Support interaction records
  • Platform performance notes
  • Complete cost breakdowns

For Educational and Informational Content

Research and Verification Every educational article starts with my personal experience, then I verify information through multiple sources, industry documentation, and real-world testing.

My Process:

  • Start with what I've personally experienced
  • Cross-reference with official prop firm documentation
  • Test concepts and strategies in live market conditions
  • Document real examples and outcomes
  • Update content as industry practices change

For Software and Tool Reviews

Hands-On Testing I personally use every trading tool, platform, or software I review. Testing periods vary based on complexity—simple tools might get a few weeks, while comprehensive platforms get months of evaluation.

What I Evaluate:

  • Real-world functionality and reliability
  • Cost versus value delivered
  • Learning curve and user experience
  • Customer support quality
  • Integration with other trading tools

For Comparison Articles

Systematic Analysis I only compare services I've personally used or thoroughly researched. For direct comparisons, I test all options under similar conditions to provide fair, accurate assessments.

My Approach:

  • Personal experience with each option when possible
  • Side-by-side testing under real market conditions
  • Objective criteria applied consistently
  • Clear documentation of differences and similarities

Core Principles Across All Content

What I Focus On

I evaluate everything based on what actually matters: clarity, reliability, real-world functionality, fair costs, and genuine value. Every piece of content covers these core areas because they determine whether something is worth your time and money.

Documentation Standards

My military background taught me to document everything systematically. Whether it's a prop firm challenge, a trading tool test, or research for an educational article, I keep detailed records of my experience and findings.

Independence and Transparency

Editorial Independence

My content reflects my genuine experience and honest opinions. While I may earn commissions from some companies, this compensation never influences my assessments or educational content.

I've had terrible experiences with some companies that pay me affiliate commissions and great experiences with firms that don't. My content tells the truth, not what makes me money.

I Only Recommend What I'd Actually Use: Every service, tool, or strategy I recommend is one I've personally tested and would consider using myself.

Affiliate Relationships

Some links on FinSeeds are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a commission if you sign up through my links. This doesn't cost you extra and helps support the site.

Here's the reality: Affiliate relationships don't influence my content. I wish someone had told me this when I was starting—most "reviews" online are just affiliate marketing disguised as honest analysis.

Regular Updates

The futures prop trading industry changes constantly. I regularly update all content to reflect:

  • Rule changes and policy updates
  • New features or platform modifications
  • Changes in industry best practices
  • Updated costs and requirements
  • Fresh real-world examples

What I Don't Do

No Paid Content

I don't accept payment from companies for positive coverage or educational content that favors their services. All testing and research is done independently at my own expense.

No Theoretical Analysis

I don't create content based solely on websites, marketing materials, or secondhand information. Everything comes from actual hands-on experience or thoroughly verified research.

No Unrealistic Promises

I can't guarantee you'll have the same experience I did or achieve specific results. Trading outcomes vary based on strategy, market conditions, and individual factors.

Types of Content I Create

Comprehensive Reviews

In-depth analysis based on extended testing periods, covering every aspect of the experience—the good, the bad, and the expensive mistakes.

Educational Guides

Step-by-step explanations of prop firm processes, trading concepts, and industry practices, all backed by real-world experience and verified information.

Comparison Articles

Side-by-side analysis helping you understand real differences in rules, costs, features, and user experience across multiple options.

Update Posts

Regular updates when companies change rules, add features, or modify services. The prop firm industry moves fast, and I keep you informed.

Tool and Platform Reviews

Honest assessments of trading software, automation tools, and platforms based on actual usage and testing.

My Background

Why my perspective matters:

  • 3+ years of documented prop firm experience
  • 52+ evaluation attempts across multiple firms
  • Former Air Force officer with systematic approach to analysis
  • Real trading wins and losses documented along the way
  • Current Marketing Director with professional content creation experience
  • No financial advisory credentials—I share experience and research, not professional advice

I'm not here to sell you a course or promise easy money. I'm here to share what I've learned through expensive trial and error, extensive research, and real-world testing so you can make better decisions.
